Access to CICS at CNS
Most CICS production regions are available between the hours of
7:00 A.M. and 4:30 A.M. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 A.M.
through 4:30 A.M. on Sunday. The LUIS/NOTIS region (NERNOTIS) is
available 24 hours a day except during scheduled reloads on Sunday,
Tuesday and Thursday mornings. On these days LUIS comes down at 4:30 A.M.
and is back up by approximately 10:00 A.M. on Sunday and by 7:00 A.M.
on Tuesday and Thurday mornings. The CICS test regions are available
between 7:00 A.M. and 2:00 A.M. seven days a week. Some are taken down
nightly at 11:00 PM. The start-up times listed above are the
"official" times. Regions are brought up as early as possible after
scheduled maintenance activities are complete. More often than not
they are up earlier than listed above.
CNS currently runs about a dozen CICS regions. Note that most access
to CICS at CNS requires a RACF userid/password combination.
Public LUIS does not require a userid or a password.
